Good morning Cali
Well we are up and ready to go tackle LONG BEACH - I am excited but a bit nervous but with all the great advice from Rhonda (my roomie) and Monica I am gonna do fine I am sure.
So whats on everyones agenda for today....I know what alot of you are doing as you will be in the beautiful LBC with 20,000 other people walking the streets.
Ok well time to go finish the coffee and get ready to head out - don't want to run into traffic and parking problems downtown.....

Best of luck to the participants of the Long Beach event today, please stay hydrated and those of us who can't be there are cheering you on telepathically!
Today I am sure we will be going to the hospital to visit Ron's Dad at some point. We're awaiting a diagnosis of what the problem is and why he became weak all of a sudden. He developed a fever yesterday late afternoon so there is an infection somewhere but where? In some ways I think it's good that they know there is an infection and just isnt getting weak due to his multiple health issues but on the other hand, how much can one person who is 86 endure? I feel so bad for him, he has gone through so much in the past few years. So your good thoughts and prayers would be so much appreciated.
Ron's working on the fence today and will be putting in new support posts in cement so that the old fence posts can be bolted on to keep it from being wobbly. Our neighbor is a General Contractor and will be helping him and has all the "goodies" to make the job easier.
As for me, I'm gonna make breakfast, go grocery shopping and make dinner, that's the major plans for the day!

Today I am headed to Laughlib with my dad. I hope it is not too hot. Supposed to start raining in So Cal tomorrow. Sure hope itis not too much do not want to see any flooding.

Good Morning Cali Crew! Good luck to our Long Beach marathon-ers! I'll be there with you in spirit.
My Guard Dog is HOME! Yay! He got home on Friday around 11:30. I took 1/2 a day off to spend with him and it's been wonderful. Today we're going to Home Depot to get some weatherstripping and a door sweep to fix a door. He was impressed with my kitchen work, had some advice and showed me where I went wrong. I appreciated it and what he said made sense. He'll do a little touch up and we'll caulk the nail holes and call it good! I think we're going to go with the hard wood in the kitchen. The tile just makes it echo too bad and the wood gives it a more homey feeling.
He's still sleeping, I'm trying to recover from a cold and so I'm going to snuggle up here in my blanket and watch tv for a while.

Good Morning,
I heard from Rhonda a little after 10 and they are at mile 8. They are doing the 1/2 marathon so they have 5 more to go. I am so proud of them. All of those walking...way to go. It's a great accomplishment.
Yesterday I had a great day. Spent the day with friends and went shopping. It was just a blast and I am so happy that I got out of the house. Then this week I get to have lunch with my BFF Lisa....life is getting fun again. To be out of my hole in the bedroom and to laugh with friends again for long periods of time, there is just nothing like it.
Today for me is NASCAR, and because they are in Southern Cal, I am going to be all dressed up in my Dale Jr garb...jams, tshirt, hat (if I can find them) and be here cheering the boys on. It will be a perfect day for racing. I am LOVING the cooler weather, and rain is expected, something we haven't had much of lately. I am expecting Becky to come by today for a visit. She is such a sweetie and going through so much with those alien biactches she has again. Bless her heart.
Barb, your FIL is in my prayers. I hope they find what is wrong with him and he recovers quickly. I think Doug and I are going to take off for Temecula for a few days. I know of a hotel down there that has recliners in their rooms, so I have a place to sleep. I am going to have to show Doug I can drive, so he can drink. For those of you that don't know, I don't drink most of the time in my life. I maybe consume 4 drinks a year, so Dougie is so lucky he as a designated driver all the time. I had my years of fun with drinking years and years ago but don't indulge now because of health issues from being fat for so many years.
Ok all, have a great Sunday, I know I will, and tomorrow is another fun day with friends. Doug and I are going to be bringing dinner to friends house and celebrate a birthday. Hugs always, Diane

well, OH... i'm off to a baptism today in a swimming pool... i've been privileged to be asked to assist in this one... it is for a friend who is also a former student.

Congratulations Jean (and Rhonda, Annette, Michelle, Monica and ???? all marathoners!) for a job well done! I hope you and Rhonda enjoyed your cheeseburger (somebody tattled! LOL)...it was definitely earned and deserved ^_^
Today was more 'spring cleaning'...cleaned out 2 closets of coats, jackets and sweaters (more bags to go to the thrift store ^_^), half way cleaned the front bedroom which will become my office/santuary and finally found my kitchen table again (from under all the 'office' stuff), replaced the table cloth that had gotten torn and got the kitchen spanking clean again ^_^ The only areas I couldn't/wouldn't get to were the ceiling corners...Lon needs to destroy the spider 'homes' again. I do not understand where they come from or WHY they keep coming back!!
Almost time to go pick up the old m/h; received 3 phones calls from people stopping by the park and sell lot..not bad considering it didn't make it on to Craig's List until last nite. Lon's been working on re-ceiling the roof of the new m/h...boy, is that a big job! And he's not feeling all that great :-( Been trying new receipes out on him at dinner as a reward LOL Seriously, Turkey meatballs in different sauces...cooked slow in the crockpot...Yum! Especially the cranberry sauce/chile sauce combo my sister told me about.
Hope everyone had a great weekend even if it was a working one. Monday is a work day for me....will be interesting to see if the State workers go in or not..most have been told to stay home...at least here in Sac.
